Face and Arm Shields

Genetic Armor (Deliverance Series)

The Face and Arm Shields reimagine personal protection through the lens of speculative design and post-human fashion. Drawing direct inspiration from the double helix structure of human DNA, these pieces serve as wearable defenses in a future shaped by radical genome editing and shifting definitions of the human body.

Digitally conceived in Rhino 3D, the shields blend the elegance of biological form with the functionality of modern armor. Engineered to be constructed from aluminum and shatterproof glass, the designs balance transparency and strength, reflecting a society navigating between exposure and control.

For the prototype stage, the forms were 3D printed in rigid plastic to preserve structural integrity during display, with glass components omitted for safety. However, the full vision of the pieces is captured through detailed digital renderings, where the interplay of materiality and light evokes a sleek, near-cybernetic aesthetic.

Worn across the face and forearms, these shields operate not only as physical barriers but as speculative statements—fashion artifacts of a genetically altered world, where protection, identity, and beauty are redefined through the lens of technological advancement.
